My husband and I spent two weeks at a nice hotel with a small number of rooms on the oceanfront.
We were lucky that the hotel was empty, so we had the sun loungers on the beach and the pool to ourselves 😄
Thanks to the staff for everything❤️
We missed a refrigerator and a TV in the room 😄
If the owner is reading this review, I send my regards to the owner and Dana. It's a shame Dana wasn't open the day we left.

One of the most beautiful and special hotels in terms of interior design. An old colonial house with its furniture and decorations. I'm talking about the family apartment on the ground floor.
The staff is extremely polite and the services are on point. 10/10 points.

Great place to stay, owner helped us with trip organisation, food was very good as well. We really enjoyed staying here.
Excellent small family hotel in an old colonial building, complete with original fixtures and fittings. Bags of character. Half hour walk along the beach or short tuktuk ride from Hikkaduwa town/beach. The owner Dinesh and staff Dana made our stay an absolute pleasure, really lovely and warm people. We initially intended to stay two nights but ended up staying two weeks. Right on the beach but has a pool in case you want to swim during monsoon season....Great value off season. Highly recommended. We were sad to leave.
If you are into antique style you are in for a treat. It has access to its own beach as well as one short Tuk ride from the Hikka coral reef and the turtle beach.
We were fortunate to have the whole place to ourselves due to visiting it during off season. Dinesh is one of the best hosts I've met, and Dananjaya made our stay fantastic!

A tranquil hidden gem with an awesome view of the beach.
We arrived fairly earlier than mentioned on the day of check in however the host was super friendly and very receptive to our early arrival, greeted us with a fresh mango juice.
Dinesh the owner/host had made arrangements to upgrade our room to a bigger accommodation with our very own living and dining space which was a great touch. Made us feel very welcomed and relaxed which is what we wanted.
It is a very boutique place with gorgeous view and access to a private beach, had loads of sun loungers for you to use, staff were very attentive and had attention to detail, food was very flavourful and freshly made, the wait times can be a bit longer due to it being freshly made which makes it a little bit more worth the wait as you can taste it in the food.
Overall the experience, cleanliness and service was exactly what we had hoped for and more, if you are looking to book a stay I highly recommend considering Villa Kusum for an easy and relaxing stay away from the busy tourist area.

A fantastic, peaceful place aAway from the noise of the tourists where we were greeted by really friendly staff and a cook who prepared a meal for lovers with lobster made to order, a real treat. The manager, Dinesh, is very professional and helpful. A magical place for sunset, it's the soul of Sri Lanka.
We'll have to come back and test out the rooms, which must be terrific.
Splendid encounter!
